July 27th, 2018 saw us put on our largest show to date. With over 100 attendees, 3 live musicians and the launch of our brand new campaign 'Keep Going', what did the show do for the community?
Our show's venue was at Leeds very own Headrow House. With doors open at 7pm with a relaxed atmosphere and a bar open, the night kicked off with Adam Taylor, followed by Van Houten and our headliner Tom Anderson.
In between sets, our founder Kimberley spoke to the guests about Keep Real's anniversary and what the business is aiming to do for mental health in the community. Cards were given to each guest to promote our new campaign 'Keep Going' to write down what literally 'keeps them going'. From inspirational figures, family to activities that support them with their mental health- we read out our favourites on stage in-between the music. This brought the show's community together within a safe environment to discuss positive wellbeing.
With our merch stall in full swing, it was also a stop off at the show to browse what we're about and also pick up posi promo from CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) and PAPYRUS (Prevention of Young Suicide). We also had very special guest, Leeds based animator and illustrator Molly Pukes doing live portraits all evening! Another element of bringing people together and having a good time at our show.
We gathered a lot of feedback from the show, and we're looking into putting on 'The Keep Real Show' every year! We connected with a lot of musicians before and after our July show, with a lot of interest from local businesses to get involved the next time around.
Keep Real Fest, anyone?
